VINCENT, FLY SWATTER
2015, Design competition by Plastia, 3rd Place
The styling concentrates on the perforation of the fly swatter head, which is often rendered only as a grid. The pattern is based on a fly swatter movement result. An action of swatting or sweeping of flat surface inside substance like air or water creates a vortex. It is caused by resistance of solid part against fluid substance. This air flow is usually not visible as the air is transparent.
It is pictured surprisingly accurately in painting by Vincent van Gogh called Starry night from which the concept takes its name - Vincent.
